Ruth S. Lockett

Ruth S. Lockett, 89, former longtime resident of Toms River, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012, at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Edgar and Rose Marie Slack, she was raised in Toms River and lived there most of her life. Ruth retired from Toms River Board of Education as a school nurse with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River for many years. Ruth enjoyed time spent with her family and doing needlepoint.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, William “Bill” Lockett in 2006. She leaves behind her son Skip Lockett and his wife Annette; her daughter Melita Lockett Dye and her husband John; two granddaughters Shadis and Shayna Dye; and son Stephen Lockett.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00p.m.on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Cremation will be private.
