Ronald J. Howard, 63, of Toms River passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, he lived in Madison before moving to Toms River in 1976. He received his Bachelor's degree from St. Leo University in Florida. For many years, Ron tutored students in SAT test preparation to help them get into college. He was employed by Script Fleet in Edison as a supply coordinator. Ron was a parishioner of St. Luke Church in Toms River and he was a former member of the Toms River Regional School Board.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Dorothy Howard. Surviving are his beloved wife of 39 years, Susanne Howard; a son Brian Howard and his wife Jennifer; two daughters Corinne Pedone and her husband John and Meaghan Haynes and her husband Justin; his brother Robert P. Howard; and three cherished grandchildren Dominic, Alex, Juliana and one special grandchild on the way.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Ron's memory.
