Robert J. Lesbriel, 89, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on October 29, 2023 at Harmony Village in Jackson, NJ. He was the husband of Anita Lesbriel, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage together.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Sydney and Viola Lesbriel who predeceased him. He resided in Irvington, Roselle Park and Toms River with his wife through their many years of marriage. Throughout his life, he was employed at the Township of Irvington’s Department of Public Works as a Street Equipment Operator for 35 years, at McCracken’s Funeral Home in Union, NJ as a Driver and Reception Greeter for 40 years, and the Roselle Park Police Department as a Crossing Guard for 10 years. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963, deployed in Germany.
Robert was an active member in his community and neighborhoods belonging to the PTA of Roselle Park, Roselle Park Dad’s Club, Men’s Club, National Turn Verein Irvington, Holiday City Berkeley Clubs: Bocce Ball, Veterans, Hospitality, & Fishing. He will be remembered for his joyful laughter, handyman skills, hardworking nature, social personality, and humor that livened a room. His hugs, words of wisdom and witty sayings will remain in the hearts of all he touched.
Surviving are his wife, Anita Lesbriel, three daughters, Lynn Maulbeck, Donna Mann, and Wendy Annitti and their husbands, Mark Maulbeck, Frank Mann, and Scott Annitti and six grandchildren, Robert Maulbeck, Nicholas Maulbeck, Melissa Annitti, Allison Annitti, Kaitlyn Mann, and Ashley Mann. Also surviving are many additional family members, including his Brother-in-law, Sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, loved friends and a beloved Aunt Mae DiPaolo, who is 93 years young.
The visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ. The burial will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:15am at Hollywood Memorial Park & Cemetery in Union, NJ. Family will also be receiving guests from 12:30pm-2:30pm at Casa del Rey, 147 Westfield Avenue W, Roselle Park, NJ.
