Robert D. Bernath, 55, of Toms River, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at home. Born in Toms River, he was a lifelong resident of Toms River. Robert was vice president of United Supply, Toms River since 1987 and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Toms River. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
Predeceased by his mother, Catherine Bernath, he is survived by his wife, Sheila of 18 years; his children, Daniel and his wife Jacquelyn of Beachwood, Brianna Gorneau and her husband Ron of Absecon, Tyler, Alyssa and Robert all of Toms River; his father, Daniel Bernath and his wife Jacquie of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his sister, Robbin Hart and her husband Andy of Bay City, MI. He is also survived by three loving grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan and Sophia.
Visiting will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Mass to celebrate Robert's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
