Rita Panos

Rita Panos, age 96, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Rita was born on September 7, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY as the daughter of the late Providence and Vincent Buzzetta. Rita retired from the New York City Department of Housing, Preservation and Development. Wife of the late Andrew Panos who passed away in 2017, and sister of the late James and Benedict Buzzetta, Gloria Goodyer, Lucy Allawos, Rose Telesca, and Julia Messina , Rita is survived by her sons, John Panos and his wife Lucille, and Roy Panos and his wife Angela; Rita's grandchildren and their spouses, Nicholas Panos and his wife Jimena, Andrew Panos and his wife Amy, Julia and her husband Brian Mirfield, and Francine Panos; her great-grandchildren, William, Emma, Christian, and Olivia; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in the St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Interment will follow in BG William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
