Richard J. Galati, 57, of South Toms River, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Lakewood, he resided in South Toms River the past 32 years. He was employed by Jacoma Construction, Old Bridge, as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Gilligan) Galati; his children, Lynda Walizer and her husband Michael, Richard Galati Jr. and his wife JamiLyn, and David Galati and his wife Irene; his sisters, Barbara Jean Vitkauskas, Susan Blake, and Catherine Wright. He is also the loving grandfather of five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated. Tributes may be sent to the family by visiting www.AndersonandCampbell.com.
