Phyllis Gubitosi

GUBITOSI, Phyllis (nee Lynch), age 82 of the Holiday City South section of Berkley Twp., formerly of Clifton, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 13th surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 54 years to Peter J. Gubitosi. Adored mother of Lisa Roth and her husband Kenneth of Hardyston, Pamela Finer and her husband Timothy of Toms River, and Andrea Gubitosi of Haledon. Loving grandmother of Joshua Roth and his wife Carey, Brian Roth and his Fiancée Jessica, and Nicholas and Christopher Finer. Born in Paterson to the late William and Lillian Lynch, Mrs. Gubitosi grew up in Lyndhurst, where she was active in the marching band at Lyndhurst High School, graduating in 1950. After marrying the love of her life and settling down, Mrs. Gubitosi served as administrative assistant to the director of the Clifton Public Library for 25 years before retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, Phyllis and Peter relocated to South Jersey and settled in Holiday City South, a community that Phyllis loved and became very active in. She was recently elected to their Board of Trustees. Phyllis was known for her sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was able to knit an afghan within a few months. She was an avid bridge and mahjong player, and loved to travel with her family. Phyllis was an unforgettable individual who touched many lives. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her loving family and friends.

Friends may visit Monday, November 16th from 2-4 & 6-9 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. . Funeral mass to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17th at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Interment will be private.
