1935-2025
Paula Selzle, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at home on April 13th, 2025 leaving a void her family cannot fill. Paula was kind, witty, and a delight to be around.
Paula was born in the city of Landshut, Bavaria, Germany on February 3rd,1935 to Georg and Maria Hosl. Her formative years were marked by the challenges of surviving through the trauma of World War II, often with her best friend Maria by her side. As teenagers, they loved to dance and be with their friends. It was at one of these dances that in 1952 she met the love of her life, Karlheinz Selzle. They married and began their life together. In 1959 the family emigrated to the United States, becoming citizens in 1970, and eventually settling in Shrewsbury NJ. In 2001 Karl and Paula retired to Berkeley Twp.
Paula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Everyone felt that in the love and support she provided. “Oma” was a fantastic cook, and her apple pies were always a treat for any holiday. She enjoyed all types of music and loved to dance. Her favorite songs were Edelweiss and Lara’s theme. An avid hockey and soccer fan, she enjoyed watching the NJ Devils and Bayern Munchen FC, but her favorite activity was being around her grandchildren.
Paula was predeceased by her parents, Georg and Maria Hosl, her husband of 58 years Karl, her sisters Anneliese and Irene, and sons Manfred, Karlheinz, and Nickolas. Paula is survived by daughter Angelika Blasi and husband Vincent, grandchildren Chris Blasi and wife Kristin, Ricky Blasi and wife Kristen, Jessica Deffler and husband Dan, great grandchildren Jace, Cooper and Elyse, nephews Klaus Doliwa, Gerhardt Schmitz and niece Edith Crockett, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
