Milton "Nic" Albert Nichols Jr., 76, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Nic was born in New Brunswick, NJ on December 1, 1945 to Milton and Kathleen (Wheatley) Nichols. He attended Point Pleasant Beach High School, where he met his wife, Linda Van Horn. They were married in 1970, when he returned from Vietnam. He served in the Army Intelligence and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Nic was especially good at detail. He was recognized nationally for his work making miniature furniture for doll houses. He also held classes at Ocean County College in the art of building stuffed Teddy Bears for several years. He enjoyed having a table at Flea Markets, where he sold various items with friends, Ralph and Cathy. When he wasn't selling, he would make the rounds at estate and garage sales with friends Gary and Jackie Kohler. Nic was a beautiful singer and once sang the National Anthem at a Blue Claws Baseball game. He and Linda were married 46 years, when she passed away in 2016. In 2017 he met his future bride on a tour bus to see a Broadway play in NYC. They hit it off immediately and he married Linda Brehm in October 2018. They enjoyed dancing, traveling, attending concerts and going to dinner with friends. Of all the things and people Nic loved, he loved his Lord, above all, and he was a wonderful Christian man. He and Linda became members of Grace Gospel Church, where they immediately felt like family.
Nic is survived by his loving wife, Linda, sisters, Sally Ann Rowe (Ormond Beach, FL), Kelly Sirianni (Waretown, NJ ), brother Frank Nichols (Elkton, MD) and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 11:00 am at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Nic's name to Grace Gospel Church, 137 Attison Ave., South Toms River, NJ 08757.
