Maryann Konopka

Maryann, (nee Jesiolowski) 85, of Philadelphia, PA and Ocean Gate, NJ passed on August 25, 2018. Maryann joins her beloved husband Hank in heaven.

Survived by her dear sister, Regina Filipczak, Maryann is the loving mother of Matthew (Mary Ann), Angela (Douglas) Duritza, Gloria Miller, Thomas (Michele), Paulette Konopka, Henry (Kathleen), Kenneth (Krystyna) and Joseph (Kelly); 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who lovingly called her Ciocia Mania.

Maryann worked as a secretary to the Boy Scouts of America, and the Thomas Griffith Company. She was a member of the Union of Polish Women in America Group 64, parishioner of St. Adalbert’s Church in Philadelphia, member of St. Adalbert’s Parent’s Guild, Lion’s Club, Ocean Gate Yacht Club and parishioner St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. She was a longtime member of the Angel Collector’s Club of America and enjoyed a personal collection of over 3000 angels.

Maryann was a creative person, a trait she passed along to her children. She loved holidays-her favorite was the Fourth of July -she inspired her children and friends to create many floats in Ocean Gate July 4th Parade.

Her greatest accomplishment was simply being her kind and wonderful self. She lived a life full of love and happiness. She excelled at being a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her home was always full of joy & laughter and was a welcoming place for all friends and family.

Maryann’s Life Celebration will be held at ANDERSON & CAMPBELL FUNERAL HOME, 703 Main St., Toms River NJ, on Thursday, Aug. 30th, 4 to 8 pm and Friday morning from 9 to 10:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. BARNABAS CHURCH, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville NJ, on Friday, Aug. 31th, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
