Marilyn S. Lombard, 83, of Toms River, NJ, passed into eternal life on Monday, May 9, 2022 of natural causes at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1938 in the Bronx, NY and raised in Yonkers, NY. She lived with her husband and family in Trumbull, CT for 25 years before moving to Sarasota, FL where she lived for 7 years. She then moved to Toms River, NJ 29 years ago following the passing of her husband.
Mrs. Lombard was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a loving daughter, sister, and aunt valuing family life over all else. She developed close and meaningful friendships and graciously extended herself to her neighbors and her children’s friends welcoming them into her home and family. Another central part of Marilyn’s life was her Catholic faith. She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and attended Mass frequently focusing her prayers on world peace and unity among all peoples. Passing on these values of faith and family were of upmost importance to her. In addition to being remembered for her generosity of love and spirit, she will also be fondly remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, as Marilyn had a lively and colorful personality. Some of her favorite pleasures, in addition to enjoying a good laugh, included swimming, boating, reading, and maintaining picture journals.
Mrs. Lombard was pre-deceased by her husband Francis in 1993 after 32 years of marriage, as well as her parents Albert and Renee Sicignano, her brother Mathew Sicignano, her grandson Jared Marchiano, and other beloved family members. She is survived by their seven children: Jeanne Marchiano (Peter), Francis Lombard (Jennifer), James Lombard, Thomas Lombard, Peter Lombard, Suzanne Feola (Enrico), and Joseph Lombard; sisters, Joan Neyland and Susan Crowell, as well as four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Mrs. Lombard on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 12:00 PM at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximillian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Following the memorial Mass will be a burial of cremated remains at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ 08753. Following the interment, all attendees are invited to join the family for a celebration of Marilyn’s life at 2:00 PM at B2 Bistro, 125 Bayview Avenue, Bayville, NJ 08721. Flowers may be sent to B2 Bistro or a donation may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
