She was born in Reykjavik, Iceland on July 12, 1950.
Margret Patterson graduated from Toms River High School and received a BA degree from Glassboro College.
She was married to Robert Patterson. She is survived by her brothers, Kristinn Ragnar Kristinsson and Bjarni Kristinsson.
Margret Patterson’s kindness and caring nature were her hallmark (In fact, watching Hallmark channel’s sentimental movies gave her great joy). Her compassion and caring for her family was simply unequalled –there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.
Margret’s greatest pride was her 3 daughters; Kristin (Martin Klein), Jill (John Guidice) and Catherine -- and her grandchildren; Jake Bryan, Jake John, Sophia and newly born Dominic. Her heartfelt passion was cooking, baking and introducing family and friends to the delicious magic and wondrous science that created mouth-watering food of endless varieties.
She loved Aruba – especially its Divi Divi trees and extraordinary beaches. She had a special place in her heart for her birthplace, Reykjavik, Iceland – and loved visiting relatives and exploring the countryside of her ancestral home.
Margret was especially happy during her tenure at Neptune Township Board of Education where she taught Home Economics. Teaching her students gave her pure joy, and they adored her…referring to her as Miss P.
Margret (also known as Magga to her family) was a special star, with a kind and caring nature that shined as bright as any angel’s wings. She will be missed by ALL who were lucky enough to bask in her warm, loving light. God Bless you, Magga.
A memorial service will be held at her daughter’s home Tuesday, May 11th , 11am to 3pm and 4pm to 7pm where a priest will bless her spirit and her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Neptune Township Board of Education.
