Madeline Romano, age 90, of Toms River, NJ, died on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living, Toms River, NJ, following a long illness with dementia. Born on June 29,1934 in Jersey City and raised in North Bergen, Madeline was the daughter of Innocenza and Antonio Modero. She married Frederick Romano in 1957 and moved to Lyndhurst, NJ. Following her retirement from BASF Chemical Manufacturing in Clifton, NJ, they moved to Toms River. Madeline was predeceased by her husband and six siblings –Joseph Modero, Peter Modero, Marion Modero, Mario Modero, Agnes Valentino, Gabriel Modero. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Nancy Valentino, Barbara Valentino, Robert Modero (Margaret), Joseph Modero, Michael Modero (Marguerite), Thomas Modero (Christine). Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the Ocean County Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Entombment will follow immediately. Arrangements are by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Toms River.
