It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Sgobbo, age 88, of Holiday Heights in Toms River, NJ, following a brief and unexpected illness.
Louise was the heart of her home and the light of her family. A devoted wife, she shared 68 beautiful years of marriage with her first and only true love, John Sgobbo—a love story that was the foundation of her life. Together, they built a warm, joyful home filled with laughter, cherished memories, and unconditional love.
She was a proud and loving grandmother, always ready with open arms, wise words, and the best hugs. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she never missed a moment to celebrate their accomplishments or cheer them on in life. Her love for them was truly unconditional.
Louise also shared a deep and loving bond with her in-laws, forming lifelong connections and a shared sense of family. Her ability to welcome and embrace her extended family made every gathering feel complete and filled with warmth.
A longtime resident of Holiday Heights, Louise was a cherished friend and neighbor. Known for her caring heart and effortless style, she lit up every room she entered. Whether it was a lively event at the clubhouse, a birthday celebration with friends, or hosting a cozy evening at her beloved home, Louise was always gracious and generous.
Louise never lost her zest for movement and music. She loved to dance and was a regular at Zumba classes well into her later years, inspiring others with her energy and spirit. A true fashionista, she had a flair for style and always stepped out with confidence and class.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Sgobbo; her son, Robert A. Sgobbo and his wife Mona Sgobbo; her daughter, Diane Gehron and her husband Henry Gehron; her adored grandchildren, Robert C. Sgobbo, Alexander Sgobbo, and Amber Louise Gehron; her brother John Bernard Oleon and his wife Cathy Oleon.
Louise’s life will be honored with a celebration of life on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1-4 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755 and a Mass on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ 08757, Tom’s River, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, continuing her legacy of compassion and care.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she’s dancing once again—stylish as ever—among the stars.
