Born in Newark, he lived there until his move to Mendham then to Great Meadows before settling in Holiday City in December 2018.
He looked forward to vacationing in Delaware every summer with his beloved wife, Camille, and their children and grandchildren. They also enjoyed taking trips on a whim.
In his youth, Larry was very athletic and known for his physical abilities. He loved sports, especially football and baseball. He was a good pitcher and strong batter. He was able to hit balls over the fence. He also played quarterback and would throw a "tightrope pass" that would sting when caught. He had a love of boats and fishing, which he did in his spare time.
Larry was a devout Catholic and his door was always open. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart.
In his younger years, Larry was employed by Coca Cola and Westinghouse Electric, then Macy’s in Paramus as an Engineer, where he worked until his retirement.
Larry is predeceased by his wife, Camille "Cuillo" Doyle. Surviving are his children; Arthur Prestia, Lynette Schweizer and her husband Michael; his brother, John and his wife Ronnie; his brother, Michael; his sister, Ann Conlon and her husband Peter; his many nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Maryellen Bourlier and husband Tom; his niece, Lara Inglis and her husband Kevin; and nephew, Jake Henzler; his beloved grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew and Robert.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.
The burial will take place at Gate of Heaven, East Hanover, N.J. Date to be announced.
