Julie Ann Pardenek Wojcik, 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and devoted aide, Marina, at her home on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born in East Rutherford to the late John and Anna Pardenek (Slovakia), she had also lived in Wallington, Rochelle Park, and Toms River. Julie worked for Home Fuel Oil in Passaic, NJ Bell and Bendix Aviation in the Oceanography Department until her retirement in 1979.
After retirement Julie moved to Toms River, where she enjoyed sewing (especially her grandchildren’s costumes), knitting, crocheting, baking, gardening, entertaining, playing cards, spending her winters in Florida, and travelling throughout the U.S. and parts of Europe. She was the NY Giants #1 Fan with her husband Matthew for many years. While living in Rochelle Park Julie was also Den Mother to Boy Scouts. Lastly Julie generously volunteered for over 20 years at Hovnanian Health Care Nursing Homes in Toms River.
Julie was predeceased by her beloved husband Matthew in 2019 (after being married together for 73 years), her son Wayne in 2015 and her brothers John and Fred. She is survived by her loving sons; Mark and his wife Patricia, Deacon Michael and his wife Mary Ann, and her son Wayne’s wife Mary Ann Brydon Wojcik. She had five grandchildren; Melissa, Jeffrey, Jenna, Alexander, Jonathan and six great grandchildren; Zoe, Abigail, Benjamin, Harrison, Joseph and Madeline. Julie is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Bledsoe and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1pm to 5pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 15, 2021, 10 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Toms River. The funeral mass can be livestreamed on the St. Joseph Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/StJoesParishTR (where she has been a faithful parishioner) with interment to follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations in Julie’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of the Greater NJ Chapter.
