Joyce Anne Nigro

Joyce Anne (née Mura) Nigro, 65, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Sunday June 6, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ after a long illness. Joyce was born in Paterson, NJ and raised in Belford, NJ, attending Middletown High School (class of 1974). She began raising her family in Jackson, NJ and then Bloomingburg, NY before relocating to Ocean County, NJ in 2000. She had worked in retail sales all her life, having last worked at Home Goods in Toms River for 5 years and Macy’s in the Ocean County Mall for many years prior to that. Joyce was a beam of sunshine anywhere she went. She was a pillar of optimism and strength who fought so hard for the life she loved. She adored her family and friends, and her beloved children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

Joyce was predeceased by her father Rene Mura. She is survived by her mother, Mural Babson Mura. Her loving children, daughter Joy Nigro Porcelli; son SSgt (ret) James J. Nigro Jr. and his partner, Kim Brickley; her brother, John A. Mura and his wife, Marie; her adored Grandsons, Kayhl Nigro and Cole Porcelli; former husband James Nigro, Sr. and his partner JoAnn Glas; many nieces and nephews, and dear circle of friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday June 10, 2021 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Memorial Service will take place at 6:30 pm.
