Joseph F. Turso, 93, of Holiday City South in Berkeley Township, passed away on October 16, 2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ he lived in River Edge for many years before moving to Holiday City South in 1987. He was a veteran of the US Army having proudly served in the 31st Infantry in Seoul Korea and received a WW II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Joe retired as a senior lab technician after working 33 years for Kraft Foods in Tarrytown, NY. He was a member of the VFW Post #10189, the Order of the Elks in New Milford, NJ and the Holiday City South Men’s Club, Golf Club, Social Club and Ping Pong Club.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife Josephine in 2010, his sisters Marie Amato and Ann Turso and his brother Michael Turso. He is survived by his son Joseph Turso and his wife Sally; his grandchildren Nicole, Christopher and Aiden, his sister Pauline Thomas and many special nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday October 19, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
