Joseph J. Rogalski

Joseph J. Rogalski, 70, of Island Heights, NJ passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was a longtime resident of Island Heights and enjoyed spending time in Hollywood Beach, FL. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. He began his law enforcement career as a police officer for Seaside Heights and then went on to the New Jersey State Police for 29 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 1999. After his retirement, Joe worked as a Regional Director of Security for Comcast. He was a member of NJSP Former Troopers Association and American Legion Post 129 in Toms River. Joe was an avid sailor.

Joe is survived by his wife Ellie of 51 years; his daughter Ellie Rogalski and her partner Lou Pintaro; longtime friends Doris and Frank Randazzo and numerous friends who are family.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. St. Gertrude’s Church, 103 Central Ave. in Island Heights. A private committal service will be held at New Jersey State Police Memorial Gardens in West Trenton at a later date.
