John J. Tobin

John J. Tobin, 72, of Toms River, passed away on February 28, 2023, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Born in Manhattan, NY, John lived in Hasbrouck Heights before residing in Toms River. He recently retired from Valley National Bank in Wayne, NJ as Senior Vice President of Construction Management after 30 years of service. John enjoyed travelling to the Caribbean, watching NASCAR and spending time with his cherished dog Lexi. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father John Tobin, mother Dorothy Tobin and step father Anthony Chieffo. Surviving are his beloved wife Patricia M. Tobin of 40 years of marriage and lifetime soulmate of 53 years; loving daughter (we never had) of North Carolina Michele Heaney and husband Robert and their children Ryan, Jaclyn and Kyra; his brother Thomas F. Tobin and wife Kathleen of Bradenton, FL; niece Kerrie Rupprecht and husband Eric and their children Nathan and Mackenzie; nephew Thomas Tobin and his children Hunter and Olivia; and his niece Lisa Raina and husband Chris and their son Barrett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1PM to 5PM with a prayer service at 2:30PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of John.
