John Wayne Linde, age 67, of Toms River, passed away at Community Medical Center on Thursday January 5, 2023. John was born on November 17, 1955, to parents Doris and Carl Maynard Linde. He was born in Christ Hospital, in Jersey City, New Jersey. John has two children, Regina Linde, and John Linde (1976-2007). John grew up in Weehawken, NJ, with his parents and four siblings. He moved to German, NY, in the early 1990’s, where he ran an excavation business for many years before retiring to Toms River, NJ.
John had many hobbies but loved hunting and fishing the most. He passed that love onto his son John, and even took his grandchildren on a few fishing excursions. John was a lover of maps. He spent a lot of time studying them. He came to be very proficient and could tell you how to get anywhere you needed to go. John loved his family. He loved to be around family and loved to spend time with them. He was the life of the party and could get a laugh out of anyone. John was known for singing Darlene Love’s song “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” at every Christmas get together. John was an American patriot, and a proud military father.
John is predeceased by several relatives, including his parents Doris and Carl; brother Michael; sister Marilyn; and son SSG John Linde.
John is survived by his long-term life partner, AnneMarie; daughter Regina; sisters Christine and Margaret; and brother-in-law Richard. He is survived by his six grandchildren: Dylan, Janelle, Anya, Marcus, Vicktoria, and Erika. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
