John Lincoln Kisch, 82, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021. John was originally from South River but ultimately moved to Toms River to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
John enlisted in the US Navy as a young man and served his country honorably even receiving a Distinguished Service Medal for the water rescue of a down pilot.
John was a 60 year retired member of the Sprinkler Fitter Union 696 out of Newark and was employed by AJ Carnegie along with his son Ronald. John loved telling stories about his work.
John was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Esther Georgiana Kisch the love of his life who took his heart in passing. They raised three children, Ronald Kisch of North Brunswick, Brenda Kisch Hynes of Brick and John Kisch III of Brick. He is also survived by his six grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Lauren Gorski of PA, Tracy Cener of PA, Kelly Kisch and Robin Kisch of North Brunswick, Kristin Hynes of Brick who shared a special bond with her grandfather and Michael John Hynes of Brick and his one great grandson Luke. John had three sisters, two of whom predeceased him, Jean Monahan and Betty Ann LaComia and his surviving sister Carol Skistimas residing in North Brunswick and loved by many nieces and nephews.
John loved to camp and took his family away most weekends he also enjoyed shooting at the range, but most of all he enjoyed making his wife smile. If you were his friend you were a lifelong friend.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 4-7 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A final goodbye will be celebrated Friday May 14, 2021 10:30 am at the funeral home with interment to follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
