John B. DiPreta, of Greenbriar Woodlands,Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016.He was born in NYC on September 28, 1933.John received his BA from Adelphi Universityand MA from Teachers College, Columbia University.He was married to Helen Ann on December 28,1957 in Queens, New York. John served as a teacher, elementary school principal and Assistant Superintendent of Schools in South Huntington, Long Island which spanned more than 30 years. After a hiatus because of health issues he returned to Kings Park Central Schools to finish his career and retire. At his death he was President of the Community Association Board of Greenbriar Woodlands; a position that he thoroughly embraced and enjoyed. He served as President of the Men’s Club and Chairman of the Breakfast Social and was active in all aspects of the community through his participation.He is survived by his wife Helen Ann and their three children: Patricia (Charlie) Blancato and their daughters, Laura and Lisa; Susan (Robert) Donnelly and their children, Erin and Ryan; John (Amy) DiPreta and their children Lucas, Antonia, Joseph and James ; his sister, Mary Ann Wojciechowski of Plantation, Florida and nieces Theresa (Tom) Binder and children Delaney and Brennan; Jennifer (Chris) Matthews and children Zachary, Tiffany and Bradley.His love for his family, commitment to excellence and strength of character willalways be remembered by those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Feb 25 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Ave, Toms River.Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
