Jack was born on December 29th 1949 in Jersey City, NJ to John and Doris Burkard. He graduated from Ocean Twp. High School in 1969 receiving his diploma two weeks early to be able to volunteer for Vietnam. He proudly served for four years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic.
Jack went on to run his own musical instrument repair business and then later worked at City Music Center for many years.
Jack was a huge fan of music and lived life to the fullest. He imagined himself a comedian and would crack jokes with anyone who would listen. He was also an avid reader and a history buff.
He is survived by two sons John T. Burkard and Daniel Burkard; and a daughter Colleen Burkard; six grandchildren Evan, Jasmine, Kyle, Jessa, Emily and Dylan Burkard as well as one grandchild on the way Jaime Rose Borrows; and his former wife Patricia Sawyer. Additionally he is survived by four siblings, Janet Springsteel, Jeffrey Burkard, James Burkard and Jennifer Copeland.
