Joan (Brindley) Lang, 83, of Toms River, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born in Elizabeth, N.J. and was a long time resident of Toms River. Joan worked at Country Manor Nursing Home in Toms River as a receptionist for 12 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Hank of 58 years, her beloved son Thomas of Galloway Twsp., and her life long friend of 60 years, Clara VanPelt. She is survived by her devoted children Barbara Lang of Galloway Twsp., Debra and John McGrath of Toms River, Jeffrey and Carrie Lang of Georgia, Kathy Harris and Dan Russell of Toms River, Loretta Lang of Toms River, Henry Lang of Toms River and Gina and Nick Temperio of Bayville; her sisters Ann Bonomo of Toms River and Loretta Matusaitus of Brick; and her twin brother Bud Brindley of South Carolina. She is also survived by her 12 cherished grandchildren, Allyson, Kristen, Sean, Tara, Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie, Christina, Timmy, Julia, Erik and Evan; and 2 great grandchildren, Dominick and Carter.
There will a gathering of relatives and friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Joan’s memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
