James W. Gallagher Jr. 69 born in Newark, NJ passed away on May 29th, 2022 peacefully in his home in Toms River, New Jersey after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his parents James W. and Catherine Gallagher (Daunt), daughters Iris Gallagher and Heather M. Gallagher, and brother Walter P. Gallagher.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years Deborah Gallehue, sisters Eileen Peyton, Margaret Mills, and Catherine DeLue, brother Patrick Gallagher, 5 grandsons Alex, Andrew, and Aiden Ramiez, Jovanni Reyes, Robert Britting, granddaughter Chloe Britting, and many nieces and nephews.
James enjoyed tinkering around his garage working on many projects, always fixing things for his friends and family and always lending a helping hand to those who needed it. James is also a Veteran who served in the US Navy, serving on the USS Dixie (AD-14). He retired from the US Postal Service working as an electronics technician at Dominic V Daniels facility in Kearny, NJ.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
