Jack V. Tomaselli

Jack V. Tomaselli, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home. Born on April 5, 1950 to the late Frank and Evelyn (Picchiello) Tomaselli in Orange, NJ. Jack resided in Orange, West Orange and Belleville before settling in Silver Ridge Park North in Toms River in 2016, where he embraced the community participating in Bocce, Men's Club, Swimming pool and Parties.

Jack attended Our Lady of the Valley Schools, Orange, NJ graduating in 1968, and then went on to College of Emporia, Emporia, Kansas, receiving both his Bachelor's and two Master's degrees. Upon returning to NJ he met his wife Maria (Christiano) in 1978, while both employed at the Essex County Children's Shelter and married in 1982. Employed by the State of NJ Essex County Probation, primarily supervising juvenile's for 32 years retiring in 2012. Jack was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Jack loved the oldies, visiting bakeries and collecting menus. He had his favorite songs and own dance moves.

Jack is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 42 years Maria, his sister Lucille Kaplan, nephew and godson David Kaplan and cousins, friends, kind neighbors and former work colleagues who thought the world of him.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 1-5 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ and on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 from 2-6 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 2, 2025, 11:00 am at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 155 William St., Belleville, NJ with entombment to follow to Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.

A special thank you to the Bayada dedicated caregivers especially Laura for her kindness, compassion and gentle care. Also to Serenity Hospice whose assistance and support allowed me to bring him home.
