J. James Zoll, 72, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on September 24, 2018, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ. Jim was an Army Vet stationed in Germany from 1965 to 1967. He moved to Toms River in 1971, graduated from Ocean County College in 1975, and continued his education at Rutgers University. Jim worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company before starting his own company, Toms River Appraisal Service where he worked from 1977 until his retirement in 2010.
Jim loved to play golf but his passion was traveling. He was thrilled to visit Italy where he had a private audience with Pope St. John Paul II. Jim traveled to Thailand, Bali, China, Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Hawaii. Last September he fulfilled his dream and traveled to the Beaches of Normandy. However his favorite place to be was Key West Florida, where he purchased a house in 2012 and enjoyed renovating it. He loved sitting on the front porch with his beloved wife, Patty.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Patricia of 48 years; his son David and wife Cristina; his granddaughter Luna; and his sisters and brothers in law: Kathy and Dennis Borecki, Debbie and Chuck Geske, Carol Beier, Melanie and Tom Yannuzzi, and Emil Tlusty. He also leaves his eight nieces and nephews: #1 Godchild Kevin (Caroline), Caren (Mike), Scott, Jason (Patrick), Melanie, Stephen, Rachel and Jordan and his great nieces and nephews: Jillian, Emmalyn, James and Gavin.
Visitation will be Friday, September 28th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9 AM, at St. Joseph RC Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jim may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
