Hope Angelos, 84, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on May 24th, 2018, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, where she was a longtime resident until moving to Toms River twenty years ago. Hope was a lovely woman. She enjoyed gardening, sunbathing, going to the beach, reading the NY Post and Enquirer, listening to Irish music, going to concerts and going to the movies. She especially enjoyed “Saturday Date Night” with her husband Buddy. Hope loved caring for her family and cooking for them. Her biggest expression of her love came out in her cooking. Among one of her many delicious recipes, she made “THE BEST” Eggplant Parmesan.
Hope was predeceased by her parents John and Marion Lennon and her brother Lawrence “Jay” Lennon. She is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart of 63 years, Nicholas “Buddy” Angelos; and was the beloved mother of Glen and wife Frances, Gregory, Kenneth and wife Cathy, and Gene and wife Michele. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Lennon and wife Maryellen; her four grandchildren: Brittney, Devin, Ryan and Michael along with her niece and nephews and her beloved friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
