Helmut Mross

Helmut Mross, 71, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010. He was born in Germany and lived in Jersey City most of his life. Mr. Mross was division chief of the Hudson County Road & Bridge Dept. for 18 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member and Sergeant of Arms for the Democratic Organization & Commissioner of the Board of Elections both of Hudson County. He is predeceased by his parents Bernard & Anne Mross and his brother Walter. Surviving are his wife Agnes (Fallon), 3 children Kara Ryan, Mark and Jason, 2 step-daughters Mary Fortunato and Melissa Cuozzo and his grandson Franki Fortunato. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ann Annicco, Barbara Higgins and all his friends at the Hudson County Road Dept. Visiting will be Sunday, June 13, 2010, 1:00 - 3:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at QuinnHopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, June 14, 2010, 10 a.m. at St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church, Seaside Park, NJ. Cremation will be private.
