Hanni Israel, age 98, passed away peacefully at her residence in Freehold, NJ on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Originally from Germany, Hanni emigrated to New York City, where she met her beloved husband, Gary, and raised her family. Hanni enjoyed reading, classical music, traveling, and playing canasta and bridge, and was a lifetime member of Hadassah.
Hanni is survived by her children, David (Seattle, WA) and Alan (Portland, OR); and several nieces. Services in her memory will be held at 11:00 on Monday, July 1, at the B’nai Israel Memorial Park Cemetery (1124 W. Whitty Rd, Toms River, NJ). Donations may be made to Hadassah or Friends of Israel.
