Frank T. Torchia, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on January 14, 1939 in Neptune, NJ. After high school, Frank joined the United States Army in 1959. He was stationed in Hawaii and Japan where he was a 2nd Class Gunner with the 106 mm Recoilless Rifle. Frank retired from Park Chevrolet after 25 years. He later worked for his son-in-law’s company, JBH Paving & Excavating. Through the years, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, making sauce for Sunday dinner, the beach, and trips to Florida. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, the racetrack, and going to Atlantic City Casino.
Frank was married to the love of his life, Ann, for 62 years. Together they had six children: Frank T. Torchia, III (Deceased), Charlene Russell (Kevin), Gina Huntley (Brian), Felicia DeAngelo (Louis), Tina Harleman (John) and Ashley Jernack (Matt), 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his parents Frank T. Torchia Sr. and Mary Torchia; and his sisters Virginia Torchia and Shirley Huntley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, February 23 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A committal service and Military Honors will follow at 12:30 pm at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
