Elizabeth Catania

Elizabeth L. Catania, 96, of Ortley Beach, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Paterson, NJ, she lived in Paterson before moving to Ortley Beach 34 years ago. Elizabeth worked as a seamstress for 25 years and was a member of the Garment Workers Union. She was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Paterson.

She was predeceased by her husband Italo Catania in 2012, her brother Nicholas and sister Angelina. Surviving are two sons, Eugene Catania and his wife Trudy and Richard Catania and his wife Toni; three grandchildren Julianne Guzik and her husband Eric, Michael Catania and Christie Catania; two cherished great grandchildren Gianna and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd from 4 to 8 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. On Saturday, February 3rd friends and relatives are asked to go directly to St. Elisabeth’s Chapel by the Sea, 5 Third Ave., Ortley Beach for the service at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Elisabeth’s Chapel by the Sea in Ortley Beach, NJ or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
