Drew Seibert

Dr. Drew F. Seibert, DDS a long-time resident of Ocean County, NJ and passionate sailboater passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 23, 2024 in Lakewood, NJ. Born and raised in West Orange, NJ Drew was the son of Elbert and Muriel Seibert and brother to Jay and Carol. He is survived by his wife, sons and five grandchildren.

Growing up, Drew loved to spend his summers at the shore where he worked with his brother at boardwalk soda shops and enjoyed kayaking in the surf. Drew went to Bucknell University where he met his surviving wife of 70 years, Eleanor. After getting his undergraduate degree at Bucknell, he attended the University of Pennsylvania and married Eleanor in his Junior year of Dental School.

From Philadelphia, the newly married couple moved to Fort Knox, KY where he was stationed as a Captain in the U.S. Army until moving to Toms River, NJ in 1958. There he would start his practice and raise a family in a vibrant and loving home on Main Street. Drew and Elly stayed in Toms River and later Island Heights where they would meet their life-long, great friends in the sailing and golf communities. Drew's love for sailing, which cannot be overstated, began at the Toms River Yacht Club where he would later serve as Commodore and be a lifetime member.

A devoted and generous husband and father, Drew was equally passionate about his business, patients, employees and his continuing education. In the 1980s, while not in the office or on the bay, his boundless energy allowed him to be an educator at Penn and a consultant at Johnson & Johnson, as well as an avid photographer. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, helping young sailors at Ocean County College and the casual sail into the sunset. Drew often advised, "Remember: be a gentleman, pay your bills and always work hard."

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 12:30pm at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Avenue, Toms River.
