Dorothy Weithenauer (Dottie) 85, of Toms River died peacefully at home on Friday May 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Dottie was born in Newark, NJ where she resided before moving to North Arlington, Washington Twp. and then Toms River. After being a Stay at Home Mom for her children she was employed at Ocean Day Training Center where she worked with special needs children. Following retirement she volunteered at ODTC and the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.
Dottie had a zest for life and enjoyed camping, sailing, beachcombing, cooking, dancing, quilting, painting and Bingo. Most of all Dottie treasured time spent with her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, John, and her grandson, Brian. She is survived by her children, Susan Martin (Jack), John Weithenauer (Dianne), Richard Weithenauer (Maureen) and Dr. Joanne Weithenauer (Don DuBois). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Luke Martin (Heather), Zachary Martin (Emily), Michael Weithenauer, Matthew Weithenauer, Jacob Martin and Nicole Weithenauer. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Irene Kowalski and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed for her positive outlook on life and her heart for God and others.
Visiting will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
