

Danny Roy Queen, 88, of Manchester, NJ passed away at 3:48 pm, Sunday, April 16, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born July 23, 1934, in Harvey, IL the son of Oliver and Edith (Davis) Queen. He married Ingrid Petersen on February 7, 1959, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Maywood, NJ.
Danny is survived by his wife, two daughters, Debbie Torres of Fair Lawn, NJ, Karen Belgiovine (John) of Voorheesville, NY; one sister, Creta Davis of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Richard "Dick" (DeAnn) Queen of Rossville, IL, and David (Dwyla) Queen of Danville, IL,; six grandchildren, Kate (Tom) Rowland of Wanaque, NJ; Matthew (Kristen) Belgiovine of Cranford, NJ, Nicole Torres of Fair Lawn, NJ, Allison (Jason) Hayhurst of Charlottesville, VA, Jennifer (Ben) Ward of Charlottesville, VA, and Joey Torres of Lyndhurst, NJ; 3 great grandchildren, Luke and Jack Hayhurst, Bridget Rowland, along with many nieces and nephews. He is expecting his 4th great grandchild any day. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Elsie, Betty, Viola, and two brothers, Eldon, and Melvin.
Danny was raised in Rossville, IL and joined the US Marine Corp shortly after graduating from Rossville High School where he was an all-state running back. He remained a fiercely proud Marine for his entire life. Danny spent most of his career at Huffman Koos Furniture where we progressed from truck driver to warehouse superintendent and finally as a showroom salesman where his down home, cheerful personality earned him many repeat customers.
Danny was a member of the Pinelands Reformed Church where he was active in the Men’s Club. He enjoyed puzzles, playing cards or dominos, reading, the NY Yankees, supporting the annual Toys for Tots, and spending time with cherished friends and neighbors. More than anything he treasured his time with his family, whether on numerous extended family vacations, celebrations for nearly any occasion, or just a relaxing time together. He was the beloved patriarch of the family and will dearly missed.
A visitation will be held 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023, 10:00 AM at the Pinelands Reformed Church 898 NJ- Rt 37, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow to the Brig. Gen. Wm. C.
