Coletta Digman Oshin, born September 13, 1951 in La Porte Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 3rd, 2022 at the age of 71 years. Coletta was predeceased by her husband Richard Kent Oshin, her parents Evelyn and Oran Digman, her brother-in-law Kenneth Oshin and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tillie and Bernard Oshin.
From 1977 to 2015 Coletta lived in Manchester, NJ where she had a long career in education as a high school biology teacher. During this time she lived with her husband Richard Oshin while raising their daughter Rebecca. Coletta and Richard spent their later years of their life together in Jim Thorpe, PA where they could enjoy the quiet of the woods and regular sightings of wildlife. Over the summer of 2022, Colletta moved to The Pines in Whiting, NJ to be closer to her family.
Coletta is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son–in-law, Rebecca and Michael Jugan and her grandchildren Olivia and Nathan. She will also be missed by her brother Oran and his wife Cindy, their children Warren, Heather, and Jennifer, spouses Devon, Randy, and Dan and their children Gianna, Gabriella, and Vincent. Her memory will also be held dearly by her sister-in-law Rona Oshin, her children Wayne and Dara, their spouses Tonia and John and their children Alex, Rachel, Eli, Sam, and Kai.
Coletta was a warm, friendly and passionate person who was always ready to lend a hand. Her enthusiasm for teaching permeated her life. She used her own experiences to try and ease the struggles of others. Coletta was gifted with a big heart and a desire to help. She was always quick to invite friends and family into her warm home to share stimulating conversations over a beautifully set table and plentiful meal. During these occasions she would shine with positivity and participate in playful banter with her husband Richard.
A visitation of Coletta will be held Sunday October 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753.
