Charles Bernard Richardson, was born in Warrenton, North Carolina on May 21, 1954 to the late Branch Richardson II and Mable (Kearney) Richardson. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1973. He relocated to Lakewood, NJ in the 1970’s and was united in marriage to Lizzie Crippen on July 7, 1979.
As a child he attended Ashley Grove Church. Once he relocated to New Jersey he began serving at Macedonia Baptist church. He loved his church and tirelessly served as an usher for over 30 years. In 2018 Charles was honored by the Seacoast Association for his work and labor of love in the church. He dedicated 40 years of his life as a brother to the International Free Masons, holding various titles throughout and reaching 32ndDegree.
Charles was known for being a hard worker. He worked at Henriques Yachts as a Boat Builder for over 20 years, and most recently as a driver for Preferred Behavioral Health for the last 10 years.
Charles was loved and respected by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father and friend that could be called on when needed. He was a true leader in his home, a wonderful role model to his children and all the children who knew him. Most known for his big smile and a “sharp” suit. He loved to visit North Carolina, spend time with family, work in his yard, a good conversation and to cook. You could always find him at every family event with an apron on, ready to serve.
Charles is predeceased by his son Aric Crippen and sister Barbara Jean Richardson.
He leaves a legacy to cherish to his mother, Mable Richardson. His loving wife Lizzie Richardson, or as he always called her “Puddin”, whom he was blessed to share 40 years of marriage with. His siblings Geraldine Richardson, Mable Lou Dixon, Edith Taylor, Branch Richardson, Kennedy Richardson, and Mary Cosom. His children Jamie Crippen, Corey Pearson, Tanisha (Sherman) Myers, Amanda (Rodney) Hailey, Taneka Pearson, Helena Richardson. His grandchildren Jashem Crippen, Jamie Crippen, Destiny Wardell, Corey Van Huff, Amani Richardson, Jada Richardson, Savon Myers, Nyquan Brinson, Nyquasia (Jameal) Calhoun, Noah Jackson, Jaylen Hailey, Brianna Baptiste. Two great grandchildren, Alana Brinson and Kahari Jackson. And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are private at this time and memorial service will be done at a later date.
