Bridget “Pat” Hodges, 80, of South Toms River, returned home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Ralph on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Born in Newark, she lived in East Orange before moving to South Toms River in 1960. She was a graduate and proud alumnus of Barringer High School in Newark and graduate of Wilfred Academy of Hair and Beauty in Newark. Pat owned and operated Pat’s Parlor in South Toms River for 50 years and was instrumental in starting home care cosmetology services for seniors. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville for over 40 years and was a CCD Teacher for 25 years. Pat was a past Board of Trustee member of Deborah Hospital Foundation Fund Raising, past First Lady of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, St. Barnabas Council, and she enjoyed volunteering her time to cook for many fund raisers over the years. She treasured above everything else, spending time with her cherished family.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years Ralph Charles Hodges, Jr. in 2010. Surviving are her loving children Ralph C. Hodges III and Anna R. Clague; her son-in-law Fred Clague; her cherished grandchildren, Eric Clague, Frank Hodges and Allie Brust; beloved niece Diane Delaney; and her good friends Gina, Theresa, Sonya and Jessica.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
