Barbara H. Fullmer

Barbara Bleecker Hooven Fullmer passed away peacefully on November 25, 2013. She was born in Montclair, New Jersey and moved to Toms River, New Jersey in 1960. She is the daughter of the late Florence B. Hooven and Morris D. Hooven. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James C. Fullmer, her son, James C Fullmer, Jr. and her brother Daniel Hooven. She is survived by her sons Daniel Fullmer (his wife, Rose) and William Fullmer (Laurel), her daughter Jennifer Constable (her husband Robert) and her daughter-in-law Jan Fullmer, her grandchildren, Jamie Fullmer Barber, Kate Fullmer, Christina Fulllmer Unholz, Anastacia Fullmer and Amy Constable.

Barbara was a graduate of Bucknell University (Class of 1950). She married her beloved husband in 1950. He was a Major in the Army and stationed in Japan where she joined him for two years, where they had themselves a good time! After a few more moves and Jim’s time in Dental School they settled in Toms River.

She was very involved with her children’s athletic programs and was a major Booster supporter for Toms River High School South.

Barbara was the Volunteer Coordinator at Community Memorial Hospital for many years. She worked tirelessly and forged many friendships during that time. She was a long time member of the Toms River Yacht Club, the Toms River Country Club and Seaport Society. She loved being with her family and friends, to travel, play Bridge, gardening, cooking, reading and just being a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who were privileged to know and love her. She was a Pisser!

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Tom River. Cremation will be private.
