Arthur Rocco,90, of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Arthur had lived in Staten Island before moving to Toms River 28 years ago.
After serving his country for four years in the United States Navy, Arthur worked for the United States Postal Service. He loved his job delivering mail by foot in Brooklyn, NY and did so for 30 years until his retirement in 1987.
Arthur was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables. He also loved woodworking and built many wonderful things for family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and could fix almost anything. Arthur enjoyed listening to classical music and reading (especially the word of God), he also enjoyed watching baseball and football and was a lifelong Yankee fan.
Arthur loves Jesus and was an active member of the Freehold Church of Christ for many years, serving wherever needed. Arthur had a heart for children and was a generous supporter of organizations such as St. Jude's Children Hospital and Father Flannigan's Boys Town.
Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Arthur was predeceased by his son Steven Rocco, his brothers Gerald Rocco and Thomas Rocco. He is survived by his wife Carol of 65 years, sons Russell Rocco (Lydia) and Andrew Rocco, his daughter Regina Cooperman (Wayne), sister Dolly Fusco, granddaughter Melissa Lawson (Brandon), grandson Daniel Cooperman (Alison), great grandson Cooper Lawson and great granddaughter Kennedy Cooperman.
Arthur will be dearly missed but will live on in our hearts. Cremation was private under the care of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held at a later date.
