Armand Galluccio, of Toms River, NJ, but longtime resident of New Providence, passed away the morning of February 15 at the age of 70. Armand worked in the customer service industry until his retirement in 2020.
A hallmark of Armand’s life was his desire to be of service to others. He demonstrated this with a long legacy of roles to serve others, his church, and his community and often responded to the call of leadership. Armand served as a councilman in New Providence, NJ from 2009-2018. During his tenure, he served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Library Board. He was involved with the New Providence HS Marching Band, was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and served as the president of the Paca Club. Armand was also on the New Providence Municipal Alliance, Downtown Alliance, and was actively involved with the Lions Club.
Soon after moving to Toms River, retirement didn’t slow Armand down as he stepped into the gap to take on the role once again of Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, this time at St. Maximilian Kolbe church and joined the Berkeley Republican Committee and the HCS Men’s Club. Armand also loved gardening and learning and cooking his mother's old recipes, taking great pride in reproducing her delicious pizza. He also loved to entertain friends with his wife at their Toms River home and host family holidays.
Armand had the gift to initiate friendships and leave a lasting and loving impression on all who were blessed to cross his path. When called upon for help, Armand always responded to family and friends without question and with a sense of urgency as needed.
Most importantly, Armand was a man of God and it showed in everything he did and said. He was a kind hearted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend to all those who were lucky enough to know and love him. Surviving are his wife, Marianne; his two children, Dawn and William; son-in-law, Todd; and grandchildren, Nathan and Ava.
Private services will be held on Friday, February 18 with a larger celebration of his life to follow later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in his name to your local Lions Club.
