Anthony S. Torrente Jr.

Anthony S. Torrente Jr., age 87, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. The son of the late Anthony and Jean Torrente, he lived in Staten Island, NY for 30 years before moving to Lake Ridge in Toms River. Prior to retiring, he was the proud business owner of Tony's Prime Meats in Queens, NY for over 30 years. As an active member in the Lake Ridge community, he had many friends and volunteered in social events. He especially enjoyed playing pool, Poker, Texas Hold'em, and swimming laps in the pool. He won multiple Pool Tournaments throughout the years and had a passion for sketching, playing games, and cooking. He loved his Sunday dinners and watching football with his family.

Anthony was predeceased by his loving wife, Marie, of 63 years, and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his loving children, Michael Torrente and his wife Lillianne, his daughter Laura Papasso and her husband Joseph; his five grandchildren, Gina Koch and her husband Michael, Janine Barth and her husband Dan, Joseph Papasso, Michael Torrente Jr., Anthony Papasso and his wife Agatha; his three great grandchildren, Ava, Layla, and Brent.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at The Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Luke’s RC Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755.
