Born in Carteret NJ in 1921, she lived there until marrying her beloved husband John, a proud member of the US Army at the time.
At various times due to her husband's military career she lived in Southern Pines NC, Biloxi MS, and even Germany following WWII before moving to Toms River in 1970. She was an active supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and various charitable organizations. After moving to the Holiday City area of Toms River in the late 80s she was very active in the Polish Americans' Club, the Women's Club, and the Dance Club. Anne also took frequent advantage of group trips, traveling far and wide with her large circle of close friends.
She was exceedingly wise in the ways of the world, possessed a wealth of knowledge on a wide array of topics, and was a fountain of sage advice. Along with English, she was fluent in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian and German.
Anne was a dedicated and devout member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church in Toms River, and attended services regularly for as long as she was able. She took tremendous pride in having a similar national background to Pope Saint John Paul II, and followed his teachings closely.
In addition to being a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and wife, she was by all accounts the world's greatest cook and took great joy in entertaining and socializing. Family and friends were her passion and delight.. She never met a stranger and quickly befriended those who had the good fortune to meet her.
Anne was predeceased by her husband John and her son MIchael. She is survived by sons John and Matthew, grandchildren John Zarembski and Jennifer No, and brothers Edward Wadiak and Eugene Wadiak.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755.. A funeral service will be held to honor her life and memory at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery Sayreville, NJ.
Although flowers and gardening were two her greatest joys in life, Anne cared deeply about the challenges faced by wounded military personnel. In light of her almost life-long concern, the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to either the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence. --Pope St John Paul II
