Born in Brooklyn, New York, Anna grew up with five brothers and two sisters. As a young adult Anna worked at a shoe factory in Red Hook, where she met the love of her life, Cosmo Esposito. They later married in January 1943. The couple made their home in Brooklyn, where they raised their three children, Robert, Joanne, and Richard before re-locating to New Jersey as retirees.
A loving mother and homemaker, Anna was a remarkable cook as well as baker, and delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She enjoyed doting on her family and was always there to provide guidance or simply just to listen. A devout Catholic, she prayed the holy rosary daily. She loved playing weekly games of mahjong with friends, crocheting, visiting Atlantic City, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Cosmo in 2009, her daughter Joanne Covais in 2003, and her namesake great grandchild, Anna Charlotte Crombie in 2010. She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife Alba, and Richard and his wife Margaret; her grandchildren, Dianne Esposito, Robert (Sonia) Esposito, Kristy (Roger) Crombie, Lori (Kevin) Hartinger, Kimberly (Bobby) Brownlie, and Lauren Esposito. Anna was a proud great grandmother of ten, all of whom brought abundant joy to her later years. Further survived by sister, Grace Barclay, Anna will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance.
