Albert L. Santoro, 77, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away at his home on Tuesday January 27, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Staten Island for 44 years prior to moving to Toms River 1 year ago. Albert was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a detective with the New York City Police Department for 17 years. He was a member of the Great Kills Yacht Club, Knights of Columbus Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675, Staten Island Lodge of Fraternal Order of Police, New York State Fraternal Order of Police Empire State Lodge, Catholic War Veterans Staten Island Post 1934, the American Legion Great Kills, Staten Island and the Holy Name Society of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Toms River.
Albert was predeceased by his son James Santoro in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia Gemmell Santoro; his son Albert Santoro, Jr. and his wife Dawn; two daughters Denise Keeley and her husband Kevin and Patricia Loua and her husband John; his daughter-in-law Patricia Santoro; his brother Ralph Santoro and is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 29, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM on Friday January 30, 2015 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private.
