Lonnie Eugene Walls, an Army Veteran, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Arizona on April 11, 2025. Born in Wayne County, North Carolina.
Lonnie was the beloved husband of Paulina Walls, whom he met in New York City and were married 55 years until her passing on April 21, 2019, and the proud father of five children: Dawn Walls, Shawn Walls (Fusi), Michael Walls (Rekeba), Kelly Walls and Lonnie David Walls. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Michael Walls, India Binns, Marcus Binns, Alana Luke and his great-grandson Andrew Ford. Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie Eugene Walls and Effie Mae Walls. And Brothers Robert, Rudy and James (Pete). He is also survived by his brother Larry and four sisters Ruth, Julia, Rose and Patricia.
Lonnie was a man of unwavering dedication, no nonsense and resilience.
Lonnie spent many years working long, hard hours in private sanitation n in New York, always ensuring his family was well provided for. His work ethic was unmatched, and took immense pride in being the backbone of his family.
Beyond his professional life, Lonnie had a passion for motorcycles and leather crafting. He possessed an incredible talent for fixing anything and had an encyclopedic knowledge of cars. His hands were rarely still, always building, repairing, or creating something meaningful. Lonnie's life was a testament to hard work, love and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
