James Anthony Anderson, a Vietnam Marine Veteran, Lifelong Mechanic, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints passed away on May 24th 2020 at the age of 71 in his Avondale Az home.
James is Survived by his Wife Pamela Anderson, his children Donica Michelle Anderson, Brian Allen Anderson, Kendra Danielle Anderson, Toni Marlene Anderson; and his brothers Devery Anderson, B.J. Boatsman, David Boatsman, Arlyn Boatsman, and his sister Caroldeen Boatsman; and multiple Aunts and Uncles. His is predeceased by his brothers Greg and Stephen Anderson, his Grandson James Antonio Anderson and his parents Cecilia and Clare Anderson.
James was born in Longview Washington on August 11, 1948 to Cecilia and Bill Boatsman. He had a thirst for life and a love for his family that drove him every day. He joined the Marines April 3, 1968 and served in Vietnam where he earned a purple heart, the Navy commendation medal, and various other commendations. After returning home he eventually joined the Kelso police department, where he served the people for one year. He also taught auto mechanics at RA Long High School for a year. He became a businessman and opened his own services station. On January 26th 1973 he married Pamela Marlene Brooks, and were sealed for time and eternity in the Seattle Washington Temple on Jan 23, 1982.
James was a devoted father, and husband. He had an amazingly large heart that encompassed his entire family near and far. His family was the world to him. James wanted to make a difference in the lives of all he met. His mission later in life was to make everyone laugh, or smile his goal was to brighten their day.
A viewing and funeral service is scheduled on June 10th 2020 at Advantage Funeral Home 9155 W Van Buren St, Tolleson, AZ 85353 Bishop Jarrod Mallinger will preside. A viewing will be available from 1-2 pm with services following at 2pm. His burial services will be held on June 11th 2020 at the National Cemetery 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024 at 9:00 am.
