Roland L. Jackson

He was born on December 15, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Claude and Margaret (Ulrich) Jackson.

Roland graduated from University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Roland was employed with the State of Ohio, Schoen Paving and Monroe County Road Commission, as a civil engineer.

He retired from the Road Commission in 1989. Roland was a devoted husband to his wife Lila for 63 years.

He was a loving father to his children, Gail Thomas and her husband, Mark, Beverly Garcia and her husband, David,

Barbara Kelly and her husband, David, Gerald Jackson, James Jackson and his wife Kris, Timothy Jackson and his wife Jeanine, Carol Hamel and her husband James and Rick Jackson and his wife Danielle. Roland also was blessed with 16 grandchildren, Kalah Jackson-Fausett, Jordin Jackson-Roaden, Jenna Hartley, LCP Timon Jackson, Levi Jackson, Josiah Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Dawn Thomas McNeil and her husband, Michael, Bret Thomas, Brian Jackson, Erin Nowak and her husband Chris,Amy Jackson, Heather Garcia, Lucas Hamel, Logan Hamel and Madeleine Hamel. Roland was a great grandfather to 17 great grandchildren, Ceasar Jackson, Isabelle Fausett, Ezekiel Fausett, Dillon Roaden, Alex Roaden, Gabriel Roaden, Timothy, Noah Roaden, Amaris Hartley, Jackson Hartley, Lily Hartley, Nelle Hartley, Taylor Jackson, Allison Jackson, Wade McNeil, Ellee McNeil, and Miles Jackson. Roland was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Cartwright and great grandson, Wyatt Lester McNeil.

A private memorial service for Roland’s family will be planned at a later date. The family would like to “Thank” Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the wonderful, caring way in which they tended to the needs of both Roland and his family.
