Mary Veitch, age 90, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 19, at her home. She was born in Toledo on June 6, 1922 to her parents Charles and Mable McLean. Mary was employed as a supervisor in the lunchroom at Harvard School for many years. She loved to line dance and tap dance and was a member of The Manhattan Dance Company for over 20 years. At the age of 80 she was a dancer with her dance group in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. She also danced with her group for performances to raise money for Honor Flight, which sponsors veterans to go to Washington DC. She loved spending time in her yard and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel McLean, her beloved husband of 51 years, Francis Veitch Jr. and her sister Bernice McLean.
She is survived by her devoted children, Karen (Bill) Fortner, Deborah (Lee) Sanders, Keith (Dottie) Veitch; grandchildren Ericka (Noah) Stone, Nathan Sanders, Shawn (Kristen) Sanders, Nathan (Sarah) Vallejo, Jeremy (Angelique) Glyda, Joey Veitch, Jacob Veitch, Joshua Veitch; great grandchildren Lukin, Noah, Kiley, Mackenzie, Lila, Waylon and her siblings, Harold McLean, Margaret Rigg and Donald McLean.
Memorial visitation will be Sunday, February 24 at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd (at Alexis) 419-473-1301 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
